Cocktail Recipe: The Charlie Chaplin
If you’ve seen our other autumn cocktail recipes, then you’ll know I said how addicted I am to the blackberry honey bourbon smash, but, this cocktail may possibly even trump that one.
I love a cosmo, and I think there is something really cosmo-esque about this one, but with an autumn, sloe gin twist, so if you love a cosmo too, then I think you’re going to like this one as much as me!
In addition to the delicious flavour of this fall cocktail, I also love how quick and easy it is to make. With only 4 ingredients needed and no bits to make ahead, even the most fuss-free cocktail makers can get on board with this one.
The orange twist is optional, but it does lift the cocktail nicely on a visual front as otherwise, it is on the plain side (but it makes up for it in flavour x1000).
Disclaimer, I have tweaked the quantities below from the traditional recipe, but all the same ingredients. I actually tweaked it for a very practical reason, so I could remember it easier, but I kept the ratios roughly the same to keep the balance right, and it’s delicious!
Charlie Chaplin Cocktail Recipe
Serves: 1
INGREDIENTS
40ml Sloe gin
20ml apricot brandy
20ml Lime juice
5-10ml sugar syrup
INSTRUCTIONS
In a cocktail shaker, place all of the ingredients and a good handful of ice.
Shake for 10-15 seconds, until the shaker is ice cold.
Strain into a coupe and finish with a twist of orange. Enjoy!
That’s it! That’s how easy it is. It would actually be perfect for a welcome drink at a dinner party, because it’s super tasty, easy to make, and packs a decent punch to get the party going.
A handy tip to make a cocktail like this have a little more visual wow factor is to get some beautiful cut glass coupes, like the one in the photos. It really adds effortless glamour and makes the drink feel special.
