Cocktail Recipe: Apple Gin Spritz
Summer and early Autumn are all about sipping light, refreshing drinks outside in the early evening sunshine, and this Apple Gin Spritz is perfect for just that.
We were very lucky to be gifted a selection of wonderful Penrhos Spirits gins, and the moment we saw the apple and elderflower one we knew we had to make something delicious with it!
This cocktail is easy drinking and deliciously sweet but with the cut-through from the apple and lemon to balance it out. We’ve recommended 25ml of gin but you could go 50ml if you prefer something stronger, and you can also customise yours with the choice of either Prosecco or tonic to top up with.
Apple Gin Spritz Cocktail Recipe
Serves: 1
INGREDIENTS
25ml Apple Gin (such as Penrhos Apple & Elderflower Gin)
100ml Apple Juice
10ml Lemon Juice
1 tsp honey
Tonic or Prosecco (to top up)
Ice (for shaker and glass)
INSTRUCTIONS
Put the gin, apple juice, lemon juice, honey, and a large handful of ice in a cocktail shaker.
Shake for 15 seconds, until the shaker feels very cold.
Strain into a tall glass filled with ice.
Top with your choice of Prosecco or tonic water.
Garnish with a slice of apple (we’ve also added an edible flower) and serve.
We can’t thank Penrhos Spirits enough for kindly letting us try their delicious gins, we also had a London dry gin of theirs which made a delicious G&T with a slice of cucumber and mint, and our next of theirs to test out is their rhubarb gin, which I cannot wait to try later this week!
